Blue-lit jellyfish at the Aquarium de Paris – Cinéaqua

The venue

Urban aquarium presenting some 500 marine species, with a cinema room. Set beneath the Chaillot hill, between the Trocadéro gardens and the Seine, the Aquarium de Paris occupies former quarries. A first aquarium was created here in 1878; closed in 1985, it reopened in 2006.

The visitor route covers 3,500 m² underground. It presents around 10,000 fish and invertebrates, a Polynesian tank with 750 corals and a large 3-million-litre pool home to sharks of seven different species. An underground visit in the heart of the 16th arrondissement of Paris, combining marine biology and the history of the site.

For groups : Groups receive a group rate from 20 people, and mini-group rates apply from 7 to 19 people. Booking is compulsory and groups visit on their own, without a guide. The aquarium is fully wheelchair accessible and has a restaurant overlooking a 600,000-litre tank.
