The venue

Château nicknamed the “Versailles of Normandy”, in Vernon. In the 18th century, the Duke of Belle-Isle, grandson of the superintendent Fouquet, undertook the major works that earned it this nickname: a terraced forecourt, a park, and stables inspired by those of Versailles, built between 1741 and 1743.

Later owned by the Duke of Penthièvre and then by Louis-Philippe, who created an English-style park there, the estate saw its main building rebuilt in 1860 in an Italian-inspired neoclassical style. The grand salon retains late Louis XIV panelling from the Château de Bercy. The château is partly listed as a historic monument.

For groups : The interior of the château can only be visited on a guided tour. Groups, companies, local authorities or schools, are welcome on request to the château team, during the opening season from April to early November, Tuesday to Sunday.
