The entrance hall of the Fondation Louis Vuitton

The venue

Building designed by Frank Gehry, hosting exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. Opened in 2014, the Fondation Louis Vuitton, created by the LVMH group, stands on the edge of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. It has eleven galleries on three levels and an auditorium.

Inspired by the Grand Palais and the former glass structures of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, Frank Gehry designed a building that looks like a sailing ship. Twelve glass sails wrap around a group of white volumes, nicknamed “the iceberg”, which carries planted terraces and seems to float on a pool. The architecture is an integral part of the visit.
