The red granite rocks of the Calanques de Piana, in the Gulf of Porto

The venue

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, to be discovered by sea among red rock formations. On the west coast of Corsica, the Gulf of Porto opens between Punta â Scopa to the north and Capu Rossu to the south, with Porto and its Genoese tower at its head.

The gulf, the Calanques de Piana, the Gulf of Girolata and the Scandola reserve have been on the World Heritage List since 1983. From the boat, the group sails along cliffs of red granite with contorted shapes, plunging into clear waters. Maupassant saw the Calanques de Piana as “one of the wonders of Corsica”.
