An exhibition room at the Historial de la Vendée

The venue

Museum retracing the history of the Vendée, from prehistory to the present day. Opened in 2006 in Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne, at the heart of the natural area of the Boulogne valley and near the Vendée Memorial, the Historial belongs to the département and holds the “Musée de France” label.

Across nearly 3,000 m², ten rooms in seven areas present the main stages of a history spanning 7,000 years. The collection numbers nearly 20,000 objects, 3,000 of which are on display, and has absorbed those of the former Puy du Fou eco-museum. In the entrance hall, interactive points let visitors listen to “key witnesses”. The museum also offers educational tours.

For groups : Groups receive a preferential rate from 15 adults, and group visits are by reservation only. Tailor-made tours can be booked with the museum's guides, and « Apéritive » or « Gourmande » packages can round off the visit.
