The venue
A car-free island reached by boat, with coastal paths and gardens. Lying north of the Pointe de l’Arcouest, near Paimpol, the island is reached by a shuttle boat that crosses the Ferlas channel to Port-Clos. Motor vehicles are banned, except for those of the municipal services and a few farmers.
Pink granite shapes the landscapes of the archipelago. In 1907, Bréhat became the first natural site to be protected in France. Five hiking trails link its notable spots: the Paon lighthouse, the Saint-Michel chapel, built on a mound overlooking the whole island, the Maudez cross and the Birlot tide mill.
For groups : For groups, the direct crossing from the Pointe de l'Arcouest takes about 10 minutes. One option combines the crossing with a 45-minute commented boat tour of the archipelago, before landing on the main island for a self-guided visit. Group excursions are scheduled on the chosen date, on quotation, and the meeting point is at the landing stage 20 minutes before departure.
