The sign of Le Vaisseau, the science discovery centre in Strasbourg

The venue

An interactive science and technology centre designed for young visitors. Located in Strasbourg and run by the European Collectivity of Alsace, Le Vaisseau is aimed at children and young people aged 3 to 15, with the motto “Science through fun”.

The permanent exhibitions cover several themes: animals, water, making things, the human body, and mathematics through puzzles and riddles. A 5,000 m² garden offers a chance to observe nature, with an observation beehive and an insect hotel among other features. The venue is particularly well suited to school trips and children’s groups.

For groups : Le Vaisseau welcomes school and out-of-school groups, either for a self-guided visit of the exhibitions or, for classes, for an exploration led by the science education team, with activities and workshops adapted to each school level. Bookings must be made at least 15 days in advance, the group rate applies from 10 pupils and the coach driver is admitted free. The visit takes two to three hours; a welcome area, lockers and, for classes received in the morning, a lunch area are available.
