The venue
A park entirely dedicated to the world of insects. Micropolis, la cité des insectes, is located in Saint-Léons, on the Lévézou plateau, in the Aveyron. It was inspired by the entomologist Jean-Henri Fabre, who was born in the village, and by the success of the film Microcosmos.
The indoor building has some fifteen rooms covering 2,400 m². Outside, the Carnaval des insectes walk is both a place to observe nature, with a view of Mont Seigne, and a playful area where eleven stations present giant insects. The site aims to raise awareness of the world of insects among young and old alike.
For groups : Groups of adults, seniors or children are welcome every day of the season, from February to early November, by reservation only. They choose a half-day or full-day package, self-guided or led by a guide. The panoramic restaurant offers a group menu, and a picnic area and picnic room are available. A drop-off point is provided for coaches and minibuses, parking is free, and the site is accessible, with a lift.
