Parc Astérix

A theme park based on the world of Asterix, with rides and shows. Opened in 1989 in Plailly, in the Oise, about thirty kilometres from Paris, Parc Astérix is inspired by the comic books of Uderzo and Goscinny. It is the third most visited theme park in France.

The park is organised into themed areas that combine the world of Asterix with ancient mythology, from the Roman Empire to Greece and from Egypt to Gaul. It features roller coasters such as Tonnerre 2 Zeus, other rides and shows, for example in the Roman arena. The park has received a Thea Award, presented by the Themed Entertainment Association.

For groups : The park welcomes groups from 20 people, for a day or a stay, on quotation or online booking, with one adult ticket free for every 20 paying visitors and dedicated ticket desks at the entrance. Coaches park free of charge in the « P BUS » car park, and the driver gets parking, ticket and meal free on presentation of the route sheet, from 20 passengers. Groups can have lunch in the park's restaurants, order a takeaway picnic or bring their own, and stay at the Les Trois Hiboux and Les Quais de Lutèce hotels, located in the park. Private evenings are offered to works councils, travel agencies and coach operators.
