The venue
Bird reserve in the Bay of the Somme, a stopover for a great many birds. Located on the northern edge of the bay, the Parc du Marquenterre lies within the Baie de Somme national nature reserve. It has been open to the public since July 1973, on land once used to grow tulips and hyacinths.
The estuary is a migration stopover between Siberia and north-west Africa. Paths and observation hides, blended into the landscape, allow visitors to watch the birds. The park is a breeding site for the Eurasian spoonbill, the pied avocet and the white stork, and a wintering site for many ducks.
For groups : For groups and works councils, the park offers guided tours, themed or private outings, horse-drawn carriage rides and workshops. Catering and room hire complete the offer, and bookings are made online.
