The venue
A safari park to explore by car and on foot over more than 80 hectares, Planète Sauvage is located in Port-Saint-Père, near Nantes, in Loire-Atlantique. Opened in 1992 as the Safari Africain, it has borne its current name since 1998.
The park is home to around 1,100 animals of 120 species. It combines a safari trail, driven by vehicle, with a pedestrian area that includes one of the two dolphinariums in mainland France, where bottlenose dolphins are presented. The park works with European researchers and funds nature conservation associations.
For groups : Groups of more than 20 people put together their programme when booking. The safari trail is covered in two hours aboard the group's own coach, driven by its driver, with one of the park's wildlife guides on board, or as an option aboard a 4×4 truck; the walking area can be guided, in groups of 15 to 25 participants per guide. Lunch is served at La Pirogue restaurant; admission is free for the coach driver, as is his meal if the group lunches on site, and one free place is granted for every twenty paying people.
