The venue
A Belle Époque villa surrounded by nine themed gardens, overlooking the Mediterranean. Built between 1905 and 1912 on the summit of the Cap Ferrat peninsula by Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, it is inspired by Renaissance-style palaces. In accordance with the wishes of the Baroness, who died in 1934, it became a museum.
The interior evokes the residence of a great Belle Époque art lover with a particular taste for the 18th century. Covering seven hectares, the gardens include a French formal garden overlooked by a Temple of Love, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, exotic and Provençal gardens, and a rose garden. The villa and its gardens are listed historic monuments.
For groups : Groups of 20 people or more visit independently with a free audio guide, to be booked, available in six languages, for about 1 h 30; the one-hour lecture tour, in French or English, is limited to 25 people, and a themed « privilège » tour is offered from 10 people. The visit can be extended with a snack break or lunch at the villa's restaurant, which seats up to 40 people. A coach car park is located nearby.
