Vulcania

A European park devoted to volcanism, Vulcania offers immersive experiences about the Earth and volcanoes. It lies at the heart of the Chaîne des Puys, about fifteen kilometres from Clermont-Ferrand. Opened in 2002, the park was designed by the Austrian architect Hans Hollein: his almost entirely underground building is marked by a monumental cone.

For a group, the visit combines rides, shows and educational areas devoted to volcanism and the Earth sciences. The site holds the status of a centre for scientific, technical and industrial culture and has a planetarium. The surrounding landscape of the Auvergne volcanoes naturally extends the experience.

For groups : The park welcomes groups of 20 people or more, by reservation with its dedicated department. A guide can accompany the group for half a day or a full day. Meals are served at the table in a dining area reserved for groups, the driver is a guest of the park and parking is free.
