The venue
Zoological park of nearly 80 hectares, with a safari by little train among animals in semi-freedom. Founded in 1986 in Hermival-les-Vaux, near Lisieux, in Calvados, Cerza (Centre d’étude et de reproduction zoologique augeron) is home to some 1,500 animals of species from all five continents.
In 2019, the park was extended with a second African plain reached by the Safari Train. Since 2018, it has also been home to female polar bears. A member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, Cerza takes part in breeding programmes for endangered species; rare births have taken place here, such as that of an Indian rhinoceros in 2013, a first in France.
For groups : Group rates apply from 20 people, with one free adult for every 20 adults. Admission includes the Safari Train, which takes about 25 minutes, and a one-hour guided tour can be booked for up to 40 people. For meals, groups can choose between a buffet at La Pagode restaurant and vouchers valid at six food outlets in the park, which is open every day from February to November.
