The venue
The world’s largest group of aligned menhirs, with nearly 3,000 standing stones. The Carnac alignments comprise four megalithic sites, Kermario, Le Ménec, Kerlescan and Le Petit Ménec, in the municipalities of Carnac and La Trinité-sur-Mer.
Erected around 4,500 BC, these menhirs are associated with enclosures, tumuli and dolmens, and stretch over more than four kilometres. Protected as historic monuments as early as 1889, the sites have been subject to visitor management measures by the Centre des monuments nationaux since the 1990s. In July 2025, they were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the megaliths of the Morbihan shores.
For groups : Adult groups can take a guided tour of the alignments for up to 50 people, or come with their own tour guide under a package, for up to 30 people. The « Balade des menhirs » offers a 5 km loop along the alignments, for a maximum of 30 people. Some offers combine the alignments with the megalithic site of Locmariaquer or the Grand Cairn de Barnenez, and a supplement may apply for certain languages.
