Sea anemones in a blue-lit tank at the Grand Aquarium de Saint-Malo

The venue

Aquarium showcasing marine life, from the English Channel to tropical seas. Opened in 1996 at the entrance to the corsair city, it is home to some 10,000 animals of around 600 species, spread across ten themed worlds and 46 tanks.

The tour includes a 360° ring holding 600,000 litres of water, where blacktip reef sharks and loggerhead turtles swim. The Nautibus ride and the “Abyssal Descender” simulator, which recreates a submarine exploration of the ocean depths, complete the visit. Together with Océanopolis in Brest, it is one of the most visited tourist sites in Brittany.

For groups : The group rate applies from 20 people, and booking in advance is recommended. Groups can choose a guided tour, as well as an offer to discover the behind-the-scenes areas of the aquarium. Works councils and associations can obtain undated tickets at a preferential rate, and the aquarium can be privatised for an evening.
