The venue
Listed as a Grand Site de France, the Pointe du Raz is the westernmost part of Cap Sizun, in Finistère. This rocky headland in the commune of Plogoff forms a seventy-two-metre-high prow overlooking the Raz de Sein, facing the Iroise Sea. Protected since 1987, it received the Grand Site de France label in 2004.
It is one of the most emblematic sites of Brittany’s granite coastline. Offshore, in the Raz de Sein, stands the Vieille lighthouse. The site is crossed by the GR 34, which follows the Breton coast, and by the European long-distance path E5, which links the Pointe du Raz to Venice: an opportunity to extend the visit with a coastal walk.
For groups : The Maison de site de la Pointe du Raz welcomes groups of up to 55 people for guided tours, booked through the Maison de site or the tourist office. The « Les rendez-vous de la Pointe » tour lasts one hour and starts from the semaphore, 800 metres from the car park; guided tours run from April to October.
