Trip description
South-West France is the land of foie gras and armagnac. This gourmet group trip invites you to prepare your own foie gras at a workshop in the Gers and to taste armagnac at a château, before discovering the great sites of the Hautes-Pyrénées, from Gavarnie to Lourdes.

Arrival, check-in.

In the morning, discover Saint-Savin, a small village perched above the Vallée des Gaves, and visit its 11th-14th century abbey church (admission to the treasury not included), then discover the charming spa town of Argelès-Gazost and taste the tourte des Pyrénées, the local cake.
Lunch at the hotel.
Departure for the Cirque de Gavarnie, a must-see UNESCO World Heritage Site that welcomes 2 million visitors every year, and afternoon snack facing the Cirque.
Dinner at the hotel and folk evening (Pyrenean songs), accommodation.
Breakfast.
Day trip to the Gers: foie gras special!
For family celebrations or gatherings with friends, bring the flavors of yesteryear to your table or to your guests’ tables. Arrival at the Domaine de Terre Blanche where, after a welcome coffee, a presentation and a short history of ducks, hair caps, aprons and plastic gloves are handed out… Over to you! You will prepare your own foie gras the southwest way – 2 hours of preparation (deveining, salting, jarring, sterilization or pasteurization).
“Country-style” lunch at the estate.
Visit of the Armagnac cellars at the Château de Cassaigne, former summer residence of the bishops of Condom, followed by a tasting.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Dinner at the hotel and accommodation.
Breakfast.
Departure for Lourdes, a small town that grew after the apparitions of 1858 to become one of the most important pilgrimage centers in the world, receiving 5 million visitors and pilgrims every year.
Lunch at the hotel.
On to the Pont d’Espagne: amid steep slopes and verdant forests, a multitude of tumbling waterfalls will unfold before you on the way to the Pont d’Espagne, an ancient crossing point for shepherds and smugglers.
Farewell dinner and dance evening, accommodation.
