Trip description
In the north of Auvergne, the Allier is a land rich in nature, ducal history and spa heritage. Discover as a group Vichy, a spa town renowned for its Belle Époque, Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture, Moulins, former capital of the Dukes of Bourbon and home to the Centre National du Costume de Scène, and the Saint-Pourçain vineyards.
Themed days of the tour
Trip can be tailored to your wishes and budget
Arrival at the hotel from 4 pm. Allocation of hotel rooms. 7 pm: welcome drink with the stay’s host.
Dinner. Free evening.
Breakfast, then departure for Moulins. Visit of the CNCS (Centre National du Costume de Scène – national stage costume centre).
Lunch at the CNCS restaurant.
Then on into Moulins for a visit of the historic town and its cathedrals, symbols of the Bourbons’ influence on the town.
Return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Dinner. Board games evening.
Breakfast and departure for Saint-Pourçain, one of the oldest vineyards in France.
Visit of a wine estate and tasting.
Lunch at the Auberge de l’Orisse, 15 km away.
Departure for Billy and visit of the castle, a magnificent emblem of the Middle Ages and a military fortress listed as a historic monument.
Return to the hotel and dinner.
Dance evening.
Breakfast and departure for Vichy, “the queen of spa towns”, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Visit of the thermal baths.
Lunch in a riverside guinguette.
Free afternoon to discover the town and its cultural and historical heritage.
Return to the hotel and dinner.
Karaoke evening.
Breakfast and departure for Dompierre-sur-Besbre.
Visit of Sept-Fons Abbey, near the confluence of the Loire and the Besbre.

Lunch at the Auberge de l’Olive.
At 2 pm, departure and visit of three châteaux (of which there are many in our region) on the way back.
