Between Annecy, Chamonix and Geneva, Haute-Savoie brings together Alpine lakes, legendary peaks and Savoyard heritage. Lake Annecy, the Mer de Glace, the Glières plateau, a landmark of the French Resistance, the shores of Lake Geneva: from Hôtel Les Sapins in Manigod, at the heart of the Aravis range, discover as a group the sites that have made the Northern Alps famous, not forgetting reblochon and other Savoyard specialities.
Themed days of the tour
Trip can be tailored to your wishes and budget
The group arrives late morning in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Alps: Manigod. Check-in at the 4**** hotel.
Lunch.
In the afternoon, your guide will take you to the heart of the Aravis, from Le Grand-Bornand to La Clusaz via the Col des Aravis, where Mont Blanc will unfold before you.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Departure from the hotel after breakfast towards Lovagny, very close to Annecy.
We will offer you a visit to the Gorges du Fier, a spectacular, narrow canyon where you walk along a footbridge fixed into the rock 25 m above the river!
Drive to Annecy, passing the Château de Montrottier.
Lunch in Annecy, then board a boat for a leisurely after-lunch cruise on Lake Annecy, “the purest in Europe”. This 1-hour cruise takes you around the main lake.
Free time in the old town of Annecy.
Return to the hotel via Veyrier-du-Lac and Manigod to visit the Manigod pipe organ. Immerse yourself in the magnificent world of organs for a fascinating visit, both informative and fun, interspersed with short musical interludes.
Savoyard dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast, then drive to the Plateau des Glières, a key site of the French Resistance.
We will offer you a day combining history and landscape on this extraordinary plateau.
Traditional lunch during the day.
The Plateau des Glières was chosen by the Allies as a parachute drop zone during the Second World War. You will also discover the Glières Monument, built in 1973 by Emile Gilioli at the initiative of the Glières survivors. It symbolises resistance and hope.
Return to Les Sapins for dinner and overnight stay.
Departure from the hotel after breakfast towards Lake Geneva, where we will offer you an unusual visit: the Evian bottling plant.
Discover the secrets of Evian natural mineral water on a 2-hour guided tour and learn all about its 100% natural origin, its history, its industrial site and its commitments to the planet.
Lunch, then free time in Yvoire, a “flower-filled medieval village” listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France.
Return to the hotel for a traditional Savoyard evening, overnight stay.
Departure after breakfast for the capital of mountaineering: Chamonix. Our route will take us through Praz-sur-Arly and Megève, the renowned resort… Rack railway ride up to the Montenvers site (1,913 m), where you can admire the Mer de Glace and its prestigious peaks.
Lunch. Free time in Chamonix and return via the Gorges des Evaux or Le Reposoir**.
Dinner with entertainment by Christophe Pessey.
An accordion virtuoso regularly heard on radio and television, Christophe will delight you with every style, from waltz to rock’n’roll, including the madison and the tango: a great atmosphere guaranteed!
